Alejandro Manuel Marque Porto (born October 23, 1981 in Pontevedra ) is a Spanish cyclist who is active in road cycling .

Athletic career

Alejandro Marque began his career in 2004 with the Portuguese team Carvalhelhos-Boavista . Marque celebrated his first success in an international race in 2012 at the Vuelta a Asturias with a stage win. The next year he won the individual time trial and the overall classification of the Volta a Portugal . A positive doping control for betamethasone did not result in a disqualification as Marque was able to prove his innocence. A contract with the Movistar team that had already been concluded for 2014 was nonetheless suspended. In 2018 he won the overall classification of the Tour of China II .
