Aleksandar Vuković (born August 25, 1979 in Banja Luka , SFR Yugoslavia , now Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a former Serbian football player and current coach .

Career

As a player

Aleksandar Vuković's first season as a professional player was in 1998/99 for the Serbian club FK Partizan Belgrade . In the 2000/01 season he played for FK Milicionar from Belgrade. From July 2001 until the end of 2008 he played for Legia Warsaw with one short break . In 2009 he moved to the Greek club Iraklis Thessaloniki , but returned to the Polish Ekstraklasa after a few months. He played from September 2009 until the end of his career as a football player on August 15, 2013 for the Polish first division club Korona Kielce .

As a trainer

In 2014 he worked as an assistant trainer at Korona Kielce . In 2015 he moved back to Legia Warsaw, initially as a youth coach. In the 2015/16 season, Vuković was then assistant coach of the first team. After the dismissal from head coach Ricardo Sá Pinto , Vuković was initially an interim coach. Legia Warsaw finished the 2018/19 season in second place in the table. With the start of the 2019/20 season, Vuković was appointed the official head coach of Legia Warsaw.
