Aleksander Frączkiewicz

Aleksander Frączkiewicz (born December 8, 1910 in Bereschany , † February 28, 1994 in Krakow ) was a Polish musicologist and teacher.

Frączkiewicz studied piano and composition at the Lviv Conservatory. He completed a degree in philosophy and musicology at the Jagiellonian University in 1947 with a doctorate. The title of the dissertation was Polski koncert fortepianowy po Chopinie (The Polish Piano Concerto after Chopin). At the Academy of Music in Kraków and the Jagiellonian University he taught from 1936 to 1939 and from 1946 music theory and history. He is the author of several musicological books, including Zasad modulacji (Rules of Modulation, with Maria Fieldorf ), Formy Muzyczne (Musical Forms, with Franciszek Skołyszewski ) and Muzyka kameralna na pograniczu baroku i klasycyzmu (Chamber music on the border between baroque and classical music).
