Aleksander Kraushar
Aleksander Kraushar , also known as Alkar (born January 17, 1843 in Warsaw , Congress Poland ; † December 11, 1931 in Warsaw, Republic of Poland ), was a Polish lawyer , historian , publicist , writer , an activist for culture and education of Jewish origin . He was the father of the Polish writer Zuzanna Rabska .
biography
Aleksander Kraushar grew up as the son of a Jewish family, his father was Herman Kraushar and his mother Ideli z Aptów . He finished his studies in 1867. After the outbreak of the January uprising , he worked for the Secret Press. He edited the part Wiadomości z pola bitwy (News on the Polish Struggle) in the semi-official body of the National Council of the January Uprising and published the secret newspaper Pravda there . After completing his studies, he practiced the profession of lawyer . While searching domestic and foreign archives, he published many works on the history of Poland, including the history of the Jews in Eastern Europe , on the lives of numerous historical figures. He published hundreds of academic papers, including many devoted to the city of Warsaw. He was a co-founder of the Polish Society of Friends of History (Towarzystwo Miłośników Historii).
After completing his work on the famous book Frank i frankiści polscy 1726–1816 in 1895, it was clear to him that being Jewish and Polish cannot be combined. Kraushar then converted to Roman Catholic Christianity .

In his first poems he wrote about the misfortune of the Jews. In 1861 he published a volume Listki (Letters) in which he described the misfortune Handel! Trade! accommodated.
In his historical and journalistic works, he primarily devoted himself to the period 1800–1830. His monograph Towarzystwo Warszawskie Przyjaciół Nauk 1800–1832 is seen as his most important work .
