Aleksas Varna
Aleksas Varna (* 23. November 1948 in Manikūnai , pasvalys district municipality , Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian liberal politician and deputy mayor of Panevėžys .
Life
Varna studied at the Agricultural Technical Center in Joniškėlis near Pasvalys and studied at the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija near Kaunas . From 1987 to 1999 he worked at Lietuvos žemės ūkio bankas and was general director of UAB “Arema” and the state enterprise “Liūdynė”. From 1999 to 2003 he headed the Panevėžys Region of Bank AB “Turto bankas”. From 2003 to 2015 he worked at UAB "Panoden" as general director, chairman of the board and consultant.
From 1990 to 2005 he was a member (deputate) in the council of the Panevėžys district community . In 2005 he completed his bachelor's degree in Business Management Administration at the Vilniaus universitetas in Vilnius . He has been the Vice Mayor of Panevėžys since 2015.
Varna is a member of the Visuomeninis rinkimų komitetas "Mums svarbu". He was a member of the LSDP .
He is vice-president of Lietuvos pakuotojų asociacija , president of Panevėžio krašto pramonininkų asociacija and member of the presidium of Lietuvos pramonininkų konfederacija .
Varna is married. He has a daughter with his wife Regina Varnienė.
