Career
Alexei Kopeikin began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Lokomotive Yaroslavl , for whose second team he was active in the third-rate Pervaya League in the 1999/2000 season . He then played for two years for the third-rate Samorodok Khabarovsk , where the attacker made his debut for the city neighbor Amur Khabarovsk in professional ice hockey in the 2000/01 season . In his two appearances in the super league , he remained pointless and punished. In the summer of 2002, the right-handed shooter was firmly committed by Amur, for which he competed in the Superliga and for the second team in the Pervaya League over the next two years. After Amur's relegation to the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, he was only part of the professional team in the 2004/05 season.
The 2005/06 season Kopeikin spent at HK Spartak Moscow in the Super League. There followed two years at HK Sibir Novosibirsk before he received a contract with HK Awangard Omsk from the newly founded Continental Hockey League for the 2008/09 season . After only 18 games, he returned to his ex-club Amur Khabarovsk, where he was team captain between 2009 and 2011. In May 2012 he left Amur and was signed by HK Sibir Novosibirsk for two years.
At Sibir he was team captain between 2013 and 2016 and had over 230 KHL games in four years. In July 2016 he moved within the KHL to HK Vitjas Podolsk and played for this until 2018.
