Alert Records was an American blues , gospel , and jazz label that existed in the second half of the 1940s.

history

The Alert Records label was founded in 1946 by Solly Abrams and had its registered office at 1303 Fulton Street in Brooklyn, New York . In the 200 series, jazz and urban blues titles, especially jump blues , etc. a. Recordings of Dud and Paul Bascomb as well as Avery Parrish ( After Hours ), Bill Johnson , Betty Mays and Willie Jordan and His Swinging Five. The 400 series mostly featured blues shellac records by singer Brownie McGhee (such as Sportin 'Life Blues , 1948), as well as titles by champion Jack Dupree ( Range in My Kitchen ) and The Four Blades, in the 500 series Novelty Songs and in the 600 series Spirituals and Gospel Music. In 1948 the label started a sub-label for children's records called Kiddie Time , which was sold to Jubilee Records in 1949 . In 1950 the label stopped its business activities.
