Alessandro Casillo

Alessandro Casillo (born June 15, 1996 in Milan ) is an Italian pop singer . He became known through his participation in the casting show Io canto and his victory in the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival in 2012 .

Career

Casillo first appeared in public in 2010 when he took part in the second edition of the casting show Io canto on Canale 5 . In the same year he presented the song Raccontami chi sei at the Wind Music Awards , which found its way into an EP of the same name that was released a little later on the Mediaset label RTI . In 2011 he took part in Io canto again.

The following year he applied with the song È vero (che ci sei) to the Sanremo Social competition , which in 2012 determined the participants in the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival . From among 1,200 applicants, Casillo made it into the final phase and finally won. His debut album È vero was subsequently released . After an Italy-wide marketing tour, the President of Lombardy , Roberto Formigoni , awarded him a regional special prize for special merits. On May 5, Casillo performed the second single May at the 2012 MTV TRL Awards . After a tour in summer, the next single Sì lo so was released in November .

In 2013 he presented the song Io scelgo te at the Music Summer Festival - Tezenis Live , written by the songwriting team Luca Chiaravalli, Gianluigi Fazio and Andrea Bonomo. After switching to the independent label Carosello Records , Casillo worked on his next album with Chiaravalli, Fazio and Bonomo. The first single from it, Niente da perdere , he presented again on Io canto . The album was released in early 2014 under the title #ALE , followed by another summer tour. In October of that year Fabbri Editore also published Casillo's book Tutto il mio mondo .

After a long break, the singer returned in 2019 with the single Hasta luego and the album XVII .
