Alessandro Cesati
Alessandro Cesati called Greco († around 1570 near Parma ), also Alessandro Cesari , was an Italian gem cutter and medalist .
He came from a Milanese family and worked mainly in Rome around and after 1550 . His works include the head of the French King Henry II on a carnelian , a foam coin on Pope Paul III. , which Michelangelo said the art reached its peak here, a medal on Julius III. , known to the Farnese family and the Cameo of Phokion . According to Ennio Quirino Visconti , most of the stones named M. Lollius Alexander come from him.
