Alex Arseno

Alex David Mayer de Arseno (born May 28, 1983 ) is a former Brazilian cyclist .

Alex Arseno won a stage each in 2006 at the Volta do Paraná and at the Volta de Santa Catarina . He also won sections of the Volta de Porto Alegre, the Volta de Goias and the Volta do Litoral Paranaense. At the Volta do Estado de São Paulo , Arseno took third place overall. In 2007 he won a stage at the Volta do Estado de São Paulo and a stage at the Volta do Paraná.

In the 2009 season he was initially successful again in a section of the Volta do Paraná and he was Brazilian road racing champion. After a doping test at the Volta do Paraná was positive for EPO , these successes were withdrawn. He was banned from the Brazilian Federation for two years until June 2011.

In 2012 Arsano returned to cycling and also competed in races on the track . In 2014 he was Argentinian champion in the sprint and third in the omnium . In 2015 he did a few more tours in his home country and came fifth in the Brazilian road championship. However, after testing positive for EPO again, he ended his cycling career with a letter to his fans on Facebook.
