Alex Diniz Correia (born October 20, 1985 in Recife , Pernambuco ) is a Brazilian racing cyclist .

Alex Diniz won a stage at the Volta de Ciclismo Internacional do Estado de São Paulo in 2006 and was able to win the overall standings. At the Pan American Championship, he took third place in the road race . Diniz received his first contract with an international cycling team from the 2007 season with the Brazilian Continental Team Scott-Marcondes Cesar-São José dos Campos . In his first season there, he won the overall standings and three stages of the Tour de Santa Catarina .

On April 25, 2009, Alex Diniz tested positive for EPO at the Tour de Santa Catarina . The Brazilian association then suspended him for two years until April 2011. The results at the Tour de Santa Catarina were canceled from the fourth stage.

In 2012, Diniz won the overall ranking at the Giro do Interior de São Paulo and was overall runner-up in the Tour do Brasil Volta Ciclística de São Paulo-Internacional , where he also won a stage and the mountain classification . In 2013 he won a stage of the Tour de San Luis , in which he was third overall and won the silver medal of the national championships in road racing. In 2014 he finished second overall in the Tour do Brasil and won the points classification there.

In autumn 2017, Diniz received an eight-year doping ban retroactively from September 29, 2015 due to abnormal values ​​in his biological passport .
