Alex Kotzky
Alex Kotzky (born September 11, 1923 in New York City , † September 26, 1996 there ) was an American comic artist.
After his school education, Kotzky studied at the Pratt Institute, among other things, and from 1940 worked as a draftsman at DC Comics for various series. Later he also worked as a background artist for Will Eisner's The Spirit . After the war he was involved in various series for Quality Comics until the early 1950s ; for example at Plastic Man and Doll Man . For Ziff Davies , Kotzky drew on horror, western and war topics in the first half of the 1950s and became a freelancer in 1954, who in addition to comic works, such as the ghost draftsman for Milton Caniff's Steve Canyon , also worked on advertising assignments. Kotzky's best-known work is the still ongoing comic strip Apartment 3-G about the shared apartment of three women, which he drew from the beginning in 1961 until his death. After the death of the author Nick Dallis , Kotzky also took over his part.
