Alexandar Tomov

Alexandar Trifonow Tomow ( Bulgarian Александър Трифонов Томов ; born April 27, 1954 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian politician . From December 2006 to 2008 he was president of the Bulgarian record football champions CSKA Sofia .

Life

After Alexandar Tomov finished his school education in 1972, he studied at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia and the State University of Economics and Finance in Saint Petersburg , which he graduated in 1978. After 1982 he worked as a lecturer at the Institute of Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Sofia .

Alexandar Tomov was Vice Prime Minister in the government of Dimitar Popov and a member of the Bulgarian Parliament . After he was deputy chairman of the BSP party , he founded the Democratic Alternative Party for the Republic and later the Bulgarian Euro-Left , of which he was chairman.

Tomow is co-founder and former chairman of the foundation “21. Wek “(in German 21st century). Before he was elected president of one of the largest football clubs in the country, CSKA Sofia, in December, he was managing director of the steel producer Kremikovzi in Sofia.

Sports

Tomov is known for his involvement in various functions of the CSKA Sofia football club. He was instrumental in bringing Indian businessman Pramod Mittal to Bulgaria on a number of Kremikovtzi deals . Mittal finally became the owner of the "Armymen" in December 2006 before he sold the club to Titan Sport EAD in early 2009. Tomov was President of CSKA Sofia from December 5, 2006 to June 5, 2008 and from July 2008 until April 9, 2009.
