Alexander Zinn Prize (Literature Prize)

The Alexander Zinn Prize for Literature of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg was a literary prize that was awarded every three years from 1964 to 1993 in memory of the founder and first head of the State Press Office (1922) State Councilor Alexander Zinn . The award was given for special literary achievements and as recognition of a life's work. The prize was endowed with 10,000 DM (until 1978) or 15,000 DM.

The Alexander Zinn Prize for Literature was replaced in 1995 by the Hubert Fichte Prize . The Alexander Zinn Prize for journalists, which has also been awarded by the City of Hamburg since 1965, continues to exist.
