Alexander Wiktorowitsch Arekejew ( Russian Александр Викторович Арекеев ; born October 12, 1982 in Izhevsk ) is a Russian cyclist .
Career
Alexander Arekejew won the bronze medal in the junior road race behind Jeremy Yates and Antonio Bucciero at the UCI Road World Championships in 2000 in Plouay . He has been driving for the Italian Professional Continental Team Acqua & Sapone since 2004 . His best placements so far were a fifth place at the Giro dell'Emilia 2005 and a third place on the eighth stage of the 2006 Peace Tour . In 2007 he won his first and only ProTour race with a stage win at Tirreno-Adriatico .
