from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alexander Königk-Tollert , even Alexander Tollert , actually Alexander Franciscus Napoleon Lysarch-Königk , Russian Александр Густавович Кенигк-Толлерт , (August 28 jul. / 9. September  1811 greg. In Riga - July 18 jul. / 30th July  1880 greg. In St. Petersburg ) was a German theater actor , director and playwright.

Life

Before he became an actor, he served as a field engineer lieutenant, was even transferred to the general staff and distinguished himself in many ways. In the end, however, he preferred the theater to the soldier's rank and appeared in public for the first time on May 29, 1895 as "Albert" in The Four Stars in Tilsit. Now he toured some larger cities with this company, and despite the fact that he achieved abundant success everywhere, he gave in to his parents' insistence, turned his back on the stage, turned to the teaching profession and later also became a translator with the title of collegiate secretary.

In 1842 he recently returned to the game. He worked in Riga, Reval and St. Petersburg, where he stayed until his retirement (1862).

He was not only successful as an actor ("Flottwell", "Zigeunerhauptmann" in Preciosa , "Tellheim", "Posa" etc.), but also as artistic director (in which position he was at the St. Petersburg court theater from 1863 to 1878 proven) and as a writer. He wrote poems, novellas, etc. and composed more than fifty stage works, some of them original works, some of them adaptations. All of them were performed in St. Petersburg with a highly acclaimed reception.
