The Alexander Lake is a lake in mountainous Summit County in northeastern Utah . The lake is located in the southwestern part of the Uinta Mountains between the Iron Mine Mountain and Haystack Mountain , north of the Provo River . The closest places are Samak and Kamas , which are 27 and 35 kilometers west of the lake, respectively.
The lake was named after an explorer and settler.
The lake has an area of approximately 9.7 hectares. The banks of the Alexander Lake are forested. In September 2018 there was a major forest fire near the lake.
