Alexander Selent

Alexander Selent (born October 16, 1952 in Weischütz ) is a German manager. From 1999 he was CFO and from 2004 to the end of 2015 Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Fuchs Petrolub AG .

Life

Selent studied business administration from 1974 to 1979 at the University of Mannheim and graduated with a degree in business administration. He has been married since 1980 and has two sons. From 1979 to 1982 he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Empirical Economic Research at the University of Mannheim. In 1982 he was awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD . After completing his university education, from 1982 to 1988 he worked in the tax department of Schitag Schwäbische Treuhand-Aktiengesellschaft, today's Ernst & Young in Stuttgart . In 1985 he passed his tax advisor exam , and in 1989 he was appointed auditor . In 1985 and 1986 he worked for Arthur Young & Company, Accountants and Tax Consultants in New York . In 1988 he took over the management of the balance sheets, taxes and customs departments at Asea Brown Boveri AG, Mannheim. In 1996 he was appointed general representative and became head of the finance and controlling department. In 1999 he joined Fuchs Petrolub AG and was appointed CFO. On January 1, 2004, he also took over the deputy chairmanship of the board. In addition to his main activity, Selent was a part-time lecturer at the Mannheim University of Cooperative Education from 1979 to 1980 and lecturer in international corporate tax law at the University of Mannheim from 1992 to 1995 .
