Alexander Wiktorowitsch Taranow ( Russian Александр Викторович Таранов ; born April 29, 1964 ) is a former Russian ski jumper .

Taranow gave his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup on January 1, 1983 as part of the New Year's jumping of the Four Hills Tournament 1982/83 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and finished jumping in 58th place. In the four following years he continued to jump exclusively in the Four Hills Tournament and in no other ski jumping World Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 1985 in Seefeld in Tirol , Taranow jumped from the normal hill to 26th and from the large hill to 48th place. On January 14, 1987, he jumped his only World Cup outside of the Four Hills Tournament in Oberwiesenthal and won his first and only World Cup point with 15th place. It was also his last World Cup competition. He finished the season in 85th place in the overall World Cup standings. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 Taranow jumped in Oberstdorf to 43rd place on the normal hill and 33rd place on the large hill. Two years later he joined the Nordic World Ski Championships 1989 in Sweden's Falun on again, but ended after a 57th place on the normal hill and a 59th place on the large hill ski jumping thereafter his active career.
