Pseudorhipsalis acuminata is a species of plant in the genus Pseudorhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Pseudorhipsalis acuminata grows epiphytically or sometimes lithophytically and is richly branched. The shoots are round at the base over a length of up to 15 centimeters (and more) and have a diameter of 5 to 8 millimeters there. Above that, the shoots are flattened, linear to lanceolate and thin. This section is 15 to 35 inches long and 2 to 6 inches wide. The edge is notched in the lower part, serrated above.

The individually appearing light pink flowers are 15 millimeters long and reach a diameter of up to 27 millimeters. The spherical pink to light magenta colored fruits reach a diameter of up to 8 millimeters.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Pseudorhipsalis acuminata is common in Costa Rica at altitudes of up to 1100 meters. The first description was published in 1933 by Georg Cufodontis .

Synonyms are Disocactus acuminatus and Rhipsalis acuminata .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN is the species as " Near Threatened (NT)", d. H. listed as low risk.
