Alexander Wassiljewitsch Schottmann
Alexander Vasilyevich Schottmann ( Russian Александр Васильевич Шотман ; born August 25, jul. / 6. September 1880 greg. In St. Petersburg ; † 30th September 1937 in Moscow ) was a Russian revolutionary Finnish origin.
Schottmann was a member of the Russian Social Democracy from 1899. In 1913 he was arrested in Yekaterinoslav and exiled for three years. Lenin sent him to Helsinki in August 1917 and accepted him into the Central Committee of the Bolsheviks. After the October Revolution , he became the People's Deputy Commissar for Post and Telegraphy. In 1924 he was pallbearer at Lenin's funeral.
Alexander Schottmann fell victim to the Stalin purges in 1937 .
