Alexander Widner

Alexander Widner (born November 10, 1940 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Alexander Widner grew up in Carinthia and Lower Austria and began to write late (“There is nothing to write there if you haven't lived enough”). He processed his experiences of several years in California in It Was in America . A long diary provided the basis for the end of the day . Strong as a nail records a woman's life over a period of thirty years.

In his most recent works, Widner's interest is concentrated on snapshots, removing individual parts from the whole, making details visible, for which the form of the recording seems most appropriate to him. On the Abyss of Books and NY 11235 are collections of such records.

Widner now lives in Klagenfurt, where he worked for many years in the city's cultural department, and in New York as a freelance writer.
