Alexandru Moisuc

Alexandru Pavel Moisuc (born September 22, 1942 in Timișoara ) is a Romanian agricultural scientist and former rector of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of the Banat in Timişoara .

biography

Moisuc grew up in Timișoara, where he attended elementary school and the Constantin-Diaconovici-Loga Lyceum . After graduating from high school in 1959, he studied agricultural sciences at the University of Timişoara and, after graduating in 1965, became a university assistant at the Agronomic Institute . After his doctorate as Dr. agr. with a dissertation on the subject of “gene mutation in wheat” he became senior assistant (1977) and lecturer (1990). In 1992, Alexandru Moisuc was appointed professor of agriculture.

He published 28 books; 250 scientific articles and popular science articles as well as 25 contributions in international journals. Moisuc has participated in more than 20 research projects mainly as a project manager.

Since 1978 he has been a member of the board of directors of the agricultural faculty and since 1982 a member of the university's senate. From 1991 to 2004 he was deputy dean or dean of the Faculty of Agriculture. From 2004 to 2012 Moisuc was Rector of the Agricultural and Veterinary University of the Banat .
