Alexei Wassiljewitsch Kamensky

Alexei Wassiljewitsch Kamenski (also Kamensky , Russian Алексей Васильевич Каменский ; born June 30, 1927 in Sukhum , Abkhazian Socialist Soviet Republic ; † October 25, 2014 ) was a Russian artist.

Life

Alexei Kamenski was born in Sukhumi on the Black Sea in 1927 as the son of the poet Vasily Kamensky and the opera singer Augusta Kastorski . He received his first drawing lessons from performing artists in the Moscow House of Pioneers. At the age of twelve Alexei Kamenski was accepted at the Artistic Gymnasium in Moscow. From 1945 to 1951 he studied at the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow . From 1958 Kamenski was a member of the Artists Union of the USSR . He lived and worked as a freelance artist in Moscow.
