Alfeo Brum (born March 22, 1889 in Salto , † February 25, 1972 in Montevideo ) was a Uruguayan lawyer, politician and vice-president of his country from 1947 to 1951 and from 1951 to 1955.

Alfeo Brum was born in Salto on March 22, 1889, and was the younger brother of President Baltasar Brum . He studied law and became a lawyer. He was a member of the Partido Colorado from his youth and was elected as a member of the Parliament of Artigas in 1923 and served in that position until 1932.

On March 1, 1933, he was elected senator. On March 31 of the same year, Gabriel Terra dissolved parliament and became dictator. In protest against this coup, Alfeo's older brother Baltasar committed suicide on the street. Alfeo witnessed his brother's suicide and from then on became an opponent of the regime. He was later arrested and detained on Isla de las Ratas and later went into exile.

In November 1946 he was re-elected senator. After the death of President Tomás Berreta, the previous Vice-President Luis Batlle Berres moved into the presidency and Alfeo Brum was appointed Vice-President. In the presidential elections in November 1950 Andrés Martínez Trueba won and Brum was again vice-president. Alfeo Brum has been the only person to date to have been Vice President of Uruguay twice in a row.
