The Alfred Adler Society for Individual Psychology in Berlin eV (AAI) is a state-recognized training and further education institute for psychotherapy and psychoanalysis . Psychologists with a diploma or master’s degree have the opportunity to complete training as psychological psychotherapists in accordance with the Psychotherapists Act . Further training in the field of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis is open to doctors.

The institute is sponsored by the German Society for Individual Psychology (DGIP), the German Society for Psychoanalysis, Psychotherapy, Psychosomatics and Depth Psychology (DGPT), the Association of Analytical Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists in Germany (VAKJP) and the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) accepted. Education and training opportunities

The AAI offers the following training opportunities for psychologists with a diploma:

Psychologists with a master’s degree can be admitted after inquiring at the State Office for Public Health (as of January 27, 2012).

Psychologists, social pedagogues and qualified pedagogues can train to become a child and adolescent psychotherapist in analytically based procedures (depth psychology and analytical psychotherapy).

According to the DGPT's advanced training guidelines, doctors can complete advanced training in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

Already licensed psychotherapists are able to complete further training in psychoanalysis according to the guidelines of the DGPT and thus acquire the prerequisite for accounting in the analytical psychotherapy procedure .

In cooperation with the Berlin Institute for Group Analysis (BIG), further training to become an analytical group therapist is offered.

In addition to this training and further education offer, various further education offers are organized in cooperation with different professional associations.

Institute outpatient clinic

The AAI offers patients the opportunity to begin psychotherapy or psychoanalysis. First, preliminary talks are held and the further procedure is discussed , taking into account the wishes of the interested parties and their impairments due to the mental or psychosomatic disorder. The outpatient department then places those interested in psychotherapy or psychoanalysis with experienced members and trainees.
