Alfred Benrath

Alfred Hermann Benrath (born May 4, 1871 in Düren , † January 18, 1969 in Ansbach ) was a professor of physical chemistry.

The son of the factory director Ernst and Mathilde Benrath studied at the universities of Zurich and Heidelberg and the Technical University of Berlin. From 1905 he was a private lecturer. 1908–1913 he was at the University of Königsberg and 1920–1945 at the Institute for Inorganic Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University. With his wife Johanna, geb. Anger, he had two children.
