Alfred Dundas Taylor

Alfred Dundas Taylor (born August 30, 1825 in Great Britain , † 1898 ) was a British naval commander, architect and author of the Admiralty of the Royal Navy .

As the son of George Ledwell Taylor (1788–1873), he was mainly active as commander of the Indian navy and was known for having expressed the plan in 1860 to build a fairway in the strait between the Indian subcontinent and the island of Ceylon ( Sri Lanka ) to build. The canal project called "Sethusamudram" found its first "groundbreaking" only now (2005). Taylor's best-known and last published book is The India Directory for the Captain's Command of Steamers and Sailing Ships , London 1874. Alfred Taylor died in England in 1898.
