Alfred Kleusberg

Alfred Kleusberg (born October 1, 1949 in Ellingen ) is a German geodesist and was head of the Institute for Navigation at the University of Stuttgart from 1997 to 2018 .

Life

Kleusberg studied surveying from 1971 to 1974 at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences in Recklinghausen (Suderwich) and from 1974 to 1978 geodesy at the TU Berlin . As a young graduate engineer he became a research assistant at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich and later at the University of Stuttgart, where he received his Dr.-Ing. PhD. He then went to Canada for 13 years: initially as a postdoc. Research Associate at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), from 1987 to 1989 as Research Fellow and then as Professor at the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at UNB. On April 1, 1997, Kleusberg was appointed C4 professor and director of the Institute for Navigation at the University of Stuttgart. From 2012 to 2015 he was Vice Rector for Teaching and Further Education.
