Alfred Mueck

Alfred Otto Mueck (* 1945 in Stuttgart ) is a German chemist and doctor .

Mueck studied chemistry at the University of Stuttgart and medicine at the University of Heidelberg and was able to successfully complete both courses with a doctorate . After completing his chemistry studies in 1971, he first worked in research for Ciba-Geigy . After a few years in industry, Mueck studied medicine and was an assistant doctor at the Bruchsal hospital and at the University of Heidelberg from 1984 to 1989. He became a specialist in internal medicine and did clinical research for his old employer, Ciba-Geigy. Since 1991 he has been working in the Clinical Pharmacology Section at the University of Tübingen . In 1999 he completed his habilitation .

His field of work is contraception and menopausal symptoms . He was a member of the drug commission of the German medical profession. He has meanwhile been the test director of 25 national and international phase I-IV clinical trials and professor at the University Women's Clinic in Tübingen .
