The Alfred Music Publishing GmbH is a music publisher , music notes and textbooks for voice / choir and all instruments (wind, percussion, string, keyboard, plucked and harmonicas) provides in German and English. The German branch of the American music publishing company Alfred Publishing Co. Inc. , which is active in the field of educational music , is based in Cologne .

Alfred Publishing was founded by Alfred Piantodosi in 1922 in New York . In 1928 the violinist Sam Manus took over the music publishing company, whose descendants are still running the family business today in the third generation. In 1975 Sam Manus' son Morton Manus relocated the company headquarters from New York to Los Angeles and expanded internationally with the establishment of further branches in London , Sydney , Cologne and Singapore . Today Morton Manus' sons Ron and Steven Manus run the publishing business.

In addition to numerous music books, textbooks, songbooks , playalongs , sheet music, DVDs and software from Alfred Verlag, the German publishing program has also included the KDM Verlag catalog, the delivery of the DOVER-Klassik catalog and, since 2005, the former Warner Print catalog .
