Alfred Zemanovský

Alfred Zemanovský (born February 9, 1919 in Linz ; † April 3, 1994 in Banská Bystrica ) was a Czech choir director , composer and music publisher .

Zemanovský attended high school in Prievidzi from 1937 to 1939 and studied at the Bratislava Conservatory from 1944. From 1954 to 1969 he directed the Bratislava Radio Choir, and from 1954 to 1972 he also worked as a music publisher for the state record companies Supraphon and OPUS . From 1975 to 1981 he was chairman of the Slovak Composers' Union. He composed more than 60 choral works, as well as chamber music and some orchestral works.
