Alfred von Glasenapp

Alfred von Glasenapp (* 7. October 1882 in oil , Silesia ; † 3. March 1958 ) was a German naval officer and submarine commander in the First World War .

Alfred von Glasenapp came from the von Glasenapp noble family . He was the son of Alexander von Glasenapp (* 1854) and Elsbeth, b. Breastlet (* 1859). From June 6, 1916 to July 31, 1917 he was in command of SM U 80 , and from September 17, 1917 to November 11, 1918 of SM U 91 . In his military career he sank fifty ships with a total of 121,418 GRT, one warship with 1025 tons and damaged six ships with a total of 47,429 GRT. On November 24, 1919, Alfred von Glasenapp resigned from military service.
