Alfredas Širmulis
Alfredas Širmulis (born February 22, 1938 in Žilvičiai , Kėdainiai district ; † December 3, 2013 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian art historian and professor at the Vilnius Art Academy .
Life
1974 Alfredas Širmulis graduated in art history at Valstybinis dailės institutas (VDI). On November 1, 1984, he received his doctorate in Moscow at the Institute for Art Studies on stone monuments of the Lithuanian people on the subject of "Lietuvių liaudies akmeniniai memorialiniai paminklai". From 1977 to 2009 he taught art history and the history of Lithuanian folk art at the VDI . He headed the student art association of the VDA. He was the faculty dean of the academy.
Alfredas Širmulis published over 20 scientific articles.
He was a member of Lietuvos dailininkų sąjunga.
