Alfredo Jiménez Ramírez (born September 5, 1951 ), also known by the nickname El Alacrán (Eng. The Scorpion ), is a former Mexican football player on the position of a striker .
career
Jiménez began his professional career in 1970 at CF Monterrey , where he was under contract until 1975 and only played on loan for Deportivo Toluca during the 1972/73 season. In the summer of 1975 he switched to local rivals UANL Tigres , of all places , with whom the Clásico Regiomontano is held. In his first season in 1975/76 with the Tigres, El Alacrán won the cup competition . Immediately after this triumph, Jiménez moved to the capital club CD Cruz Azul , where he spent the next two seasons. In 1978 he returned to the Tigres and ended his career there in 1981.
Between 1971 and 1977 El Alacrán completed 22 missions for the Mexican national football team , in which he scored six goals for "El Tri".
Unlucky
When he later joined the club, Alacrán Jiménez was literally “in the wrong place at the wrong time”. Because during his last season with Cruz Azul (1977/78) the Tigres won (for the first time ever) the Mexican football championship . Immediately after his return to the Tigres, Cruz Azul won the championship title twice in a row (1978/79 and 1979/80) and in the first season after finishing his career in the ranks of the Tigres they won their second championship title in the 1981/82 season. A success that Alacrán Jiménez was denied all his life.
