Alfredo Morales (* in Tijuana , Baja California ), also known by the nickname El Harapos (dt. The disheveled ), is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly played in midfield and won the Mexican soccer championship in 1978 with the UANL Tigres .

career

As a young man, Morales lived in Los Angeles , where he played in various amateur teams. His teammates recognized his talent and encouraged him to try his luck in the Mexican premier league . In 1970 he presented himself to the Club Atlas in Guadalajara , with which he did not receive a contract. He then came to the city rivals CD Nacional playing in the second division . There he got his nickname because of his long and tousled hair, which reminded his coach at the time of the comedian Mario García "el Harapos".

When the CD Nacional retired from the second division for a year after the 1971/72 season, Morales was committed by the UANL Tigres , where he was given the first opportunity to play in the first division. His most successful season was 1977/78 when he won the championship title with the Felinos . He later moved to CD Zacatepec , with which he had to accept relegation from the first division in 1985.
