Alfredo Piàn
Alfredo Piàn (born October 21, 1912 in Las Rosas ; † July 25, 1990 ) was an Argentine racing car driver .
Career
Monoposto
Shortly after the Second World War , Piàn began to drive car races in his home country. He was involved in the Argentine Formula Libre and drove touring car races . Until 1955 he competed regularly in the Formula Libre race in Buenos Aires - in 1955 on a Maserati A6GCM - which was held as part of the Argentine Grand Prix .
In 1950 he competed in the Monaco Grand Prix with a Maserati 4CLT for the Scuderia Achille Varzi team. During Saturday's training session, his car was thrown against the railing when he slipped over an oil trail. He was thrown out of the cockpit and injured his leg. He did not take part in the race at the Monaco Grand Prix or in other Formula 1 races.
Sports car
The only known start of Piàn was his participation in the 500-mile race of Rafaela in 1956 , which ended in fourth place overall.
