Algae fertilizer
Seaweed fertilizer is a fertilizer based on algae . Due to its content of potassium salts , nitrogen , phosphorus , and its high content of trace elements such as magnesium , it is an important fertilizer, especially in organic gardens .
Commercially available algae fertilizer mainly consists of dried green and brown algae . Algae lime , on the other hand, consists of dead algae encrusted with minerals, especially the red alga Lithothamnium calcareum .
