Alguacil
Alguacil (from Arabic al-wazir ) were the names of subordinate officials of the late medieval urban judicial administration in Spain .
They had to carry out judicial or administrative orders. The area of responsibility of the German Büttels is comparable.
The office of Alguacil arose in the 13th century at the Castilian-Leonese royal court.
At the Aragonese royal court of the 14th century, two alguacils (in Catalan algotzirs ) are responsible for finding the law in the palace district.
