Ali Akbaş

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ali Paşa Akbaş (* 1942 ) is a German entrepreneur. He is the initiator and owner of the German-Turkish television station Kanal Avrupa and head of Akbaş Media, one of the largest distributors for Turkish music in Europe. He also runs a label for folklore music in Turkey.

By founding his TV channel, Akbaş said he wanted to give the Turks and people of Turkish origin in Germany and Europe a “media home” that they would not have been able to find on Turkish or German TV channels at the time when Kanal Avrupa was founded. He also uses the station as an advertising platform for his music.
