Kanal Avrupa (German: Kanal Europa) is a television broadcaster that broadcasts a 24-hour entertainment-oriented special-interest program in Turkish throughout Europe . Kanal Avrupa is part of Akbaş Media Company. The station was founded at the beginning of 2005 in Duisburg .
General
The broadcaster is organized by Akbas Media Company GmbH, which is 55% owned by Osman Akbas and 45% by Ali Pasa Akbas. The managing directors are Ali Osman Akbas and Ali Pasa Akbas.
The program consists of 70 percent Turkish music videos and 30 percent news, live broadcasts and documentaries. Broadcasting began on January 10, 2005. The target clientele is the 17- to 47-year-old Turkish-speaking Europeans. The station broadcasts from an old car dealership in an industrial area in Duisburg. In his documentaries and live broadcasts, migration issues such as youth unemployment and the language problems of many foreigners are taken up.
With Seran Sargur (* 1980) Kanal Avrupa currently has the youngest broadcasting manager in Germany (as of May 2006).

It is broadcast via the Eurasiasat1 satellite (Türksat 2A) .
