Alice (Japanese singer)

Alice Peralta ( Japanese ペラルタ·アリス ; * 2. March 1990 in Fukushima , Fukushima Prefecture , Japan ) is a J-Pop - singer-songwriter with pop - and R & B -Einflüssen. She was the winner at Voice of McDonald’s 2010 and thus got a record company contract with SME Records . She is known by her first name Alice .

Life

Alice is the daughter of a Guam- born American and a Japanese woman . In an interview, she said that she had wanted to be a singer since she was a child. At the age of 18, she moved from her hometown of Fukushima to Tokyo to fulfill her dream. She started working for McDonald’s and also took singing lessons and wrote her own songs. In 2009, McDonald's partnered with Sony Music Entertainment Japan to host the Voice of McDonald's 2010 casting show , which only McDonald's employees were allowed to attend. She was among the 11 finalists, out of 14,168 participants with her own song 18ager . She later became the winner and got the grand prize, a recording deal with SME Records.

On July 14th, 2010 she released her debut single Ichibanboshi ( Japanese イ チ バ ン ボ シ ). The single was promoted by 3,600 McDonald's restaurants in Japan by playing the song in the store as background music and printing the single cover on 7,500,000 serving boards. However, the single did not attract much attention and only sold 529 times with a chart entry of # 107 in the Oricon charts.
