Alix Fournier

Emile-Eugène-Alix Fournier (born October 11, 1864 in Paris , † September 12, 1897 in Joinville-le-Pont ) was a French composer.

Fournier attended the music school of Louis Niedermeyer and then studied at the Conservatoire de Paris organ with César Franck , composition with Léo Delibes and harmony with Théodore Dubois . He participated several times in the competition for the Prix ​​de Rome and in 1891 won the First Second Grand Prix with the cantata L'Interdit .

He composed a number of songs and the opera Stratonice based on a poem by Louis Gallet , which was premiered in 1892 at the Académie nacionale de musique .
