Alkenals
The alkenals are a subgroup of the aldehydes . Their name and structure are derived directly from the alkenes , i. H. the aldehyde group also has a C CC double bond and straight or branched alkyl groups . They do not contain any other heteroatoms or further multiple bonds .
The C = C double bond can be located directly on the aldehyde group, then one speaks of α, β-unsaturated aldehydes. But you can also stand in isolation from it, e.g. B. in 3-Hexenal .
Typical representatives:
- The Propenal is the simplest representative.
- 2-butenal , 3-butenal
- Citronellal
