Allée couverte du Bignon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scheme gallery grave ( French Allée couverte )

The Allée couverte du Bignon is located east of Saint-Guyomard , south of the D 112 road to Bohal , near Vannes in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France .

The rather ruined Allée couverte was an approximately 10.0 m long gallery grave near the eponymous hamlet of Bignon. The remains consist of a single capstone, which lies on two preserved but collapsed supporting stones. Two false menhirs were placed on both sides of the megalithic complex. This bad habit is very common in an area where there are many menhirs. At some distance to the south there are two real menhirs.
