Allan Rae (agricultural economist)

Allan Neville Rae (* 1943 ) is an agricultural economist . He is a professor at Massey University in New Zealand. He teaches at the Manawatu Campus.

Life

Rae graduated from Massey University with a degree in Agricultural Economics and received a Ph.D. from the University of New England (Australia) .

Rae's research interests are International Agricultural Trade , World Trade Rounds , Agricultural Trade and Environment, Agriculture of China, Applied General Equilibrium Models , Asia-Pacific Agricultural Markets, and Animal Production Economics .

Rae has published two textbooks and many articles in professional journals .

Rae advised the FAO , the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific , the OECD , the Asian Development Bank , the World Bank and the WTO .

For his contributions to agricultural economics, Rae was awarded the New Zealand Science and Technology Bronze Medal by the Royal Society of New Zealand in 2001.
