The University of New England (UNE) in Armidale is a campus university in the New England region in the north of the Australian state of New South Wales .

It was founded in 1938 as New England University College and was originally a college of the University of Sydney . In 1954 the University College became an independent university. Another forerunner was the Armidale College of Advances Education incorporated in 1989 , which had been founded as Armidale Teachers College in 1928. Other milestones were the development of the University of New England Act 1989, a composite University with facilities in Lismore , NSW and Coffs Harbor was built, NSW, but which was already given by the University of New England Act 1993 again. The facilities in Lismore and Coffs Harbor have since been part of Southern Cross University .

Today, as part of a restructuring that has not yet been fully completed, the UNE is divided into two "super faculties" (Faculty of the Professions and Faculty of Arts and Sciences) and 10 so-called schools.

The schools include T. several disciplines. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences consists of the
