The Murdoch University is an Australian University in Perth , Western Australia (West Coast) that on July 25, 1973 was established as the seventeenth University in Australia.
overview
The university was founded as a university with a focus on research and 20 different institutes were set up for this purpose. It is named after the Australian writer and scholar Sir Walter Murdoch (1874–1970).
The Murdoch Campus, the oldest of the sites, is the university's headquarters. The university campus covers 227 hectares approximately 15 km south of the Perth Central Business District and is a few kilometers from the port of Fremantle . The Peel Campus, the southernmost campus of the university, is about 80 km away from the city of Perth in Mandurah. The new building only went into operation in February 2005 and is now intended to expand the university's offerings, especially biomedicine, in the future. The Rockingham campus is located 45 km south of the Perth Central Business District in central Rockingham. On this smaller campus there are mainly facilities for engineering sciences.
Faculties
The university has divided its subjects into 4 faculties:

- with a range of subjects in theater and communication studies, media and multimedia studies, literary studies, English, philosophy, Asian studies, education (all levels), sustainable development, "Aboriginal and Torres Islander Studies", journalism, gender studies, psychology, community and Regional studies, history, theology, tourism and sociology.
- Science and Engineering
- Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Conservation Biology, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Environmental Sciences, Metallurgy, Marine Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Molecular Biology, Physics and Energy Sciences.
- Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences
- Veterinary Medicine, Biomedicine and Health Sciences
- Business, Information Technology and Law
