The Curtin University is an Australian University in Perth , Western Australia (West Coast), which was founded in the 1987th Until 2010 it was known as the Curtin University of Technology. In 1998, 1999 and 2000, Curtin was named Australia's Best Technical University.

The university was founded in 1987 as a technical college. The university is named after the former Australian Prime Minister John Curtin . Curtin University was preceded by the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) founded in 1966.
The main campus of Curtin University in Bentley is about six kilometers southeast of central Perth. In addition to the three city campuses in and around Perth, the university also has rural campuses in Kalgoorlie , 600 kilometers east of Perth in the gold fields and in Northam , 100 kilometers east of Perth. Another campus in Miri in the state of Sarawak ( Malaysia ) was opened in 2002.
Curtin University offers over 850 different undergraduate and graduate courses. The university is particularly known for its training and research skills in engineering and economics.
The Curtin Business School (CBS) was the first business school in Australia to receive the renowned EQUIS quality seal from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and is still accredited to this day.
The MBA program, which has been carried out by the Curtin Graduate School of Business since 1997, is AMBA-accredited and in 2005 ranked 90th in the worldwide MBA ranking of the Economist Intelligence Unit .
