The University of Western Sydney , UWS for short , is a university in Greater Western Sydney , a region of Sydney in the Australian state of New South Wales .

It was founded in 1989. Locations are in Campbelltown (Campbelltown Campus), Milperra (Bankstown Campus), Quakers Hill (Blacktown Campus), Hawkesbury Valley (Hawkesbury Campus), Parramatta (Parramatta Campus) and Kingswood / Werrington (Penrith Campus / Westmead Precinct).
